As it sits awaiting collection, a big "THANK YOU!" to everyone who helped decorate our Book Bench for the trail in Manchester this summer.The men who came to varnish and weatherproof it on Friday commented on how colourful it was and how it would really stand out!
A team of ten Year 6 children enjoyed taking part in the Guy Hutchence Sports Memorial Event held in the Regional Sports Centre at the Etihad Stadium last Friday afternoon. The children competed as a team against other local schools in four main events. All schools were asked to follow the RESPECT (Resilience, Empathy, Selfaware, Positivity, Excellence, Communication, Team work ) agenda. Our children certainly did that and I was very proud of them and how well they performed in all the challenges.
As part of our non-uniform day today the children raised a total of ÂĢ293 which has been donated to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.

We had a lovely surprise when Mrs Patricia Atherton called in to school recently. She taught here from 1965 until 1973 and told me that she had the Year 6 class which was called Standard 4 then. Her Headteacher was called Stanley Critchley who I had the pleasure of meeting shortly before he was killed in a car accident. Mrs Atherton enjoyed her tour around school. She thought our school was lovely, extremely bright, airy and pleasing. She was very impressed with the provision for children of all abilities. If you or anyone you know used to work in our school, we will always be happy to welcome you back.
