School Development
School Development Plan
We regularly evaluate our strengths and areas for improvement, and I wanted to update families so that we can all celebrate our strengths and pull together to improve areas where there is most room for improvement.
What do we think our strengths are?
Positive relationships in school.
Excellent standards of behaviour.
Links with All Saints Church.
Support for children with additional needs.
Improved connection and communication with families.
Attainment levels are nearly all relatively stronger than they were before COVID-19.
Accelerated progress for children through Early Years, and closer to the national average than in 2019.
KS1 phonics attainment close to the national average and good progress after the huge disruption caused by COVID-19
KS1 reading and mathematics attainment around national average and very rapid improvement for higher attaining children after COVID-19.
Year 4 Multiplication Check results are better than they were in 2019 and around the national average.
KS2 reading, mathematics and GPS attainment around national average and very rapid improvement for higher attaining children after COVID-19. Best reading outcomes for a considerable period of time and improved greatly through COVID-19.
KS2 combined attainment closer to the national average and improved from 2019.
Curriculum that is ambitious and addresses the needs of the children who attend our school.
What do we feel we should improve?
Spoken language.
Early reading and phonics.
Writing.
Applied grammar and punctuation
Handwriting, particularly for the younger children
Increasing the number of children who reach greater depth
Recovery of lost learning time and the gaps this has caused.
Spiritual development, particularly through Religious Education and Worship.
Learning outside of school. Trips/visitors and also home learning.
Mental health awareness and wellbeing, including online safety.
The school environment.
How do we intend to make these improvements?
Close support for teaching staff, particularly teachers at the beginning of their careers.
Providing many opportunities to learn new language, practise using it and applying it.
Teaching the children how to speak (and then write) formally and accurately (e.g. โI saw itโฆโ rather than, โI seen itโฆโ)
Improving resources so that the children have a better stimulus for speaking and writing.
โCatch upโ interventions in place, particularly for Speech & Language, phonics, reading and mental health.
Training for staff and time to work together on improving on what we provide.
Regular trips and visitors to school to broaden horizons and learn more about the world outside of our area.
Continuing to improve our school environment, so that it demonstrates the care and high standards we have for ourselves and the children.
Increased support for families so that you are more confident in helping your child learn and practise at home.
Estate Development
We are passionate about everything about All Saints being of the highest possible standards, to inspire the children and encourage them to take pride in themselves.
