Home Study Packs
Mr J Sharp
As many of you will be aware, the children took home a 'home study pack’ yesterday. We want to be as prepared as possible for any potential school closures or in the event that families need to self-isolate. In addition to the packs, the school’s ‘Learning Zone’ page on the website has been hugely expanded, and at the present time has around 50 links to websites and apps which cover the whole curriculum.
The sending of packs home does not indicate any change to the guidance on school openings or national rules on families self-isolating if a person in a household displays symptoms of coronavirus (dry, continuous cough OR fever). School is open for children and staff who are not displaying symptoms and are also not living with someone displaying symptoms.
For families with children who were absent today:
- If your household is clear of coronavirus symptoms, you may come to the front door at any time in school hours to collect your child’s pack. You will need to speak through the intercom with the office stating your child’s class and name. A member of staff will then leave the pack on the table outside which you can then take away with you. Please ensure that when coming to collect a pack you avoid standing in a crowd, stay 2 metres from each other and only come to the door one at a time. We recommend coming to collect the pack sooner rather than later given the speed of events at the present time.
- If anyone in your household is displaying even mild symptoms then YOU OR ANY YOUR CHILDREN MUST NOT COME TO SCHOOL. If you are not able to collect study packs before a school closure is announced we will try to post your child’s pack to you.
If there are any problems then please only contact school by telephone or email.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation at this difficult time for everyone.
Mrs. Tennant
