Love

Friday brought Valentines Day and lots of people celebrating their love for each other, in many ways in school this is through strong friendships. I am so proud of the children and their love for their school and each other.

This weekend, as we all start to wind down from another busy and exciting half term, I have reflected a lot on our school family, our children and staff and wider to all of our families and community, including All Saints Parish. I currently have the football on in my house (a Red household!) and I saw the game yesterday for Manchester City which was a great win. Not a massive football fan myself, it makes it a little easier to watch! It brought me to thinking about the fact that even though we have a school full of people supporting different teams, it doesnโ€™t ever cause any difference in relationships. No matter where we support, we are still our own school community and family.

Taking that wider, it makes you recognise the amount of differences we all have in things like, what football team we may support, where we are from, what we like to do. We often spend time in school recognising these differences and what make us unique. I am so grateful for the love the children have for their school family. There may be times when they fall out (letโ€™s face it what family doesnโ€™t!) but they all belong to our school and show that love for their school family in all that they do, no matter what team they support ๐Ÿ˜‰.

When asked about what makes a good school, often my first answer is โ€˜relationshipsโ€™. Relationships between all that are part of the school. Once these are strong and built from mutual respect, love and care, great things can happen and we can continue to grow a school where we have โ€˜Healthy, Happy and Confidentโ€™ children and adults alike.

Valentineโ€™s Day (St. Valentine) - 14th February 2025

It originated as a Christian feast day honoring a martyr named Valentine, and through later folk traditions it has also become a significant cultural, religious and commercial celebration of romance and love in many regions of the world.

Look at some of the things we have been getting up to in the last 2 weeks:

This last week was a very busy one but one that had so many highs. We had a visit from our Local Authority Quality Advisor on Thursday to see how everything is going and he was so impressed with the children and all of the learning that has taken place this year so far. They often look at our curriculum and our offer to all children and will often ask us as leaders quite a lot of questions, checking that we are giving your children the best offer of an education that we can.

I would like to say a massive thank you to all of the staff for all that they do, day in, day out, to make our school the wonderful place it is but my biggest shout out has to be to the children. They, as always whenever I bring visitors around (which has seemed like a lot this last 2 weeks!), never fail to impress me and those I bring around.

We also had a meeting with the DfE about the rebuild of our school, while this is still so much in itโ€™s infancy of planning, I am positive about the new school building we are going to get and once we have more information (over the next couple of years - not a quick process!), we will share it with you and make sure you and the children are involved throughout! Exciting times ahead!

Itโ€™s been great to see the attendance rise again. Thank you so much for your support with this.

I wish all of our families a happy half term, whatever you have planned and look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday 24th February.

Mrs Flatman
